We have been in our home for two years now and the garden is starting to take shape. Twelve months ago we bought sixteen bare rooted standard iceberg roses and planted them in rows. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best as I am anything but a green thumb. To my delight they have been beautiful and flowered many times this summer.
I decided to prune them the first weekend in July and I was very nervous, hopefully they will be just as lovely next year.
There is something really special about a floral arrangement picked from your own garden, so today when I pruned all our roses for the winter I gathered the last of the buds to make a small posey on my kitchen bench.
I picked up this gorgeous rustic enamel jug at a vintage store in Kyneton, VIC.
